Private solar buying given green light
a truly great piece of news has been published by the Bangkok Post today. The energy policy makers here in beautiful Thailand, have given the green light for the state utilities to begin buying solar power generated from private buildings & households. This is something that has been postponed for more than four years.
Energy Minister Siri Jirapongphan stated that the Department of Alternative Energy Development & Efficiency will be carrying out studies that outline the investment conditions, and they should be concluded this year.
Any private homes or buildings that are accepted into the programme will be able to sell their surplus power at up to 2.44 Baht per kilowatt/hour.
